The situation in many schools in Cameroon quite as in developing countries is still not well-to-do, especially in government schools. The classes are overpopulated, and badly equipped with school equipment. Black boards are degraded and the pupils have enormous difficulties reading and taking courses in class.

Fondation Kana mobilizes resources through the project Black board so that every black board in classrooms can be painted and if possible to repair boards in deprived schools to allow the pupils to attend courses in better condition.

Fondation Kana supports its partners in several ways. Our financial contribution allows satisfying basic needs (nutrition, health, education) of children in institutions. But we also donate for the pupils to the responsible persons in institutions.

At the beginning of the school year 2010-2011, Fondation Kana offered 50 packages containing the basic equipment (minimum package) to ESEDA (Specialized school for children with deficient hearing. Yaounde, Cameroon) for the teachers (memo pads, pencils, rulers, chalk) as well as of what they need to repaint 25 black boards.

Fondation Kana had repeatedly supported the staff of MEJ* in their work through donations within the framework of projects. So it was possible to celebrate the international day of the African child (June 16th, 2010) and the Christmas tree party (December 19th, 2010) at MEJ in Bafou.

The education is the key to success in the society. It is one of the most mattering pillars to develop and improve living conditions of a country.

Quite as other developing countries, Cameroon makes many efforts, even if they are not sufficient. Since its creation, Fondation Kana makes the same report: the schooling of orphans, disabled women and underprivileged persons represents not only instruction and knowledge but also an opportunity to improve their social status, a reduction of their marginalization.

That is why the foundation rewards the best pupils of every level in schools of diverse regions of Cameroon through its program Best and brilliant student.

We also help teachers, pupils, and deprived schools by offering new black boards through the project Black board for schools, by putting a coat of paint on old ones, by distributing a minimum package towards the teachers for a better supervision and a better preparation of the courses for the pupils.

Fondation Kana also participates in seminars organized by institutions working in the social field.
